La Pensee Biomimétisme

La biomimetisme (du bios, c'est-à-dire la vie et la mimèse, c'est-à-dire l'imitation) est une discipline de conception qui cherche des solutions durables en imitant les modèles et les stratégies testés dans le temps, par exemple une cellule solaire inspirée d'une feuille. L'idée centrale est que la nature, imaginaire par nécessité, a déjà résolu de nombreux problèmes auxquels nous nous attaquons: l'énergie, la production alimentaire, le contrôle du climat, la chimie non toxique, le transport, l'emballage et beaucoup plus.

Les animaux, les plantes et les microbes sont les ingénieurs consommés. Ils ont trouvé ce qui fonctionne, ce qui est approprié, et surtout, ce qui dure ici sur Terre. Au lieu de récolter des organismes ou de les domestiquer pour accomplir une fonction pour nous, le biomimetisme diffère des autres «approches biologiques» en consultant les organismes et les écosystèmes et en appliquant les principes de conception sous-jacents à nos innovations. Cette approche introduit un domaine entièrement nouveau pour l'esprit d'entreprise qui peut contribuer non seulement à des conceptions et des solutions innovantes à nos problèmes, mais aussi à éveiller les gens à l'importance de conserver la biodiversité sur Terre qui a encore beaucoup à nous apprendre. Bumps on its shell catch water droplets, which then run down chutes toward its mouth. “The design of this fog-collecting structure can be reproduced cheaply on a commercial scale and may find application in water-trapping tent and building coverings,” wrote the authors of a 2001 paper that revealed how the water collection works. Inventors and designers have taken note. A “Dew Bank Bottle,” designed by Pak Kitae of the Seoul National University of Technology, imitates the beetle’s water-collection system.
